Justin was born and raised in Cody, Wyoming, just outside of Yellowstone National Park. He has one brother who is six years his younger. He went to Western Wyoming College in Rock Springs, Wyoming, where he studied theatre and music. He was my boss in the theatre department where he worked as the student theatre director. After our time at Western, Justin chose University of Idaho for our next scholastic stop. He studied psychology and graduated in 2004.
He began working as a psychosocial rehabilitation worker for Mental Wellness Center, a private agency in Idaho Falls. He took additional substance abuse courses needed for his ACADC (advanced certified alcohol and drug counselor) license. He then began running the substance abuse program at work doing invidual therapy, group sessions, drug court, assessments, and a ton of other things. He ventured back into the treacherous waters of education in 2006. He started on his master's program at ISU to obtain his LPC (licensed professional counselor) in mental health. He's been working full time as a substance abuse counselor and going to school full time for almost two years now. He's crazy been extremely committed and strong. He's set to graduate in December 2008.
With that much on his plate, school and work is pretty much his life right now. He watches Judge Judy every day and just loves to be a big kid. He is very musical and loves playing the piano and guitar and writing songs. He is our ward choir director and not a performance goes by that he doesn't get a ton of compliments on how well the choir sounds.
