Moment of the Day

"This sucks," I mumble as I mangle my fingers through the rungs of the crib trying to adjust the fitted sheet over the mattress and under the bumpers. Justin and I had managed the put the newly laundered fitted mattress on the crib mattress just a minute ago only to realize we had forgotten the mattress pad. Three times we'd gone through this dreadful, frustrating, near painful task.

"At least we have a crib to change," I then remembered outloud.

"Exactly."

Lara- I used to pull the crib mattress out of the crib, since it is light and easy to take out. Then I would put the mattress pad and sheet on, they are usually tight fitting, and then pick up the mattress and plop it back into the crib. Much less frustration. See if it will work with your crib style.

We are also grateful you have a crib mattress to change. Who else would Jessica entertain with her repetitive silly faces if it wasn't for Joci's undivided attention.

I do the same thing as Stephanie. After completely tearing every little tie on the bumper once I now just take the mattress out to make the crib.

Yes, doesn't pespective change our attitudes. We love that you have Joci and that you have a crib, highchair, stroller, etc.

I don't even use a crib bumber any more for this very reason. It was so frustrating to change the sheets. Now it's really easy to pull the mattress out and get the sheet on really quick.

Hey! My name is Shelly, and I just came across your blog through Open Adoption Bloggers. Just wanted to leave a comment about this post - Love it! I LOVE moments like these that help remind us of what it's all really about. I also HATE changing crib sheets, but LOVE having them to change=) Thanks for sharing!!
