Weekend in Yellowstone, Part 1

Once upon a time, Justin and Lara decided to spend a night in Yellowstone National Park. Since Grandma and Grandpa only lived two hours away, they decided to take their baby princess Jocelyn to stay with her grandparents.

The little princess traveled well, though she was too busy to sleep. She enjoyed a brief stop in the park where she learned to draw in the dirt and march excitedly.

After spending the night at the grandparents' house, Justin and Lara embarked on their adventure. It was very hot for an early October day in the mountains, but it was lovely.

 They saw purple mountains majesty.

First, they hiked to Tower Falls.

Then there was a petrifying detour to a petrified redwood tree.

They hiked through lovely, sun-drenched valleys in eighty degree weather.

On the hike to Wraith Falls, they stopped at this quaint little bridge and took pictures because they are just so darling that they couldn't help it.

They reached the unique "falls." The water flow was a little low, but it is shaped like a ghostly apparition, hence the name Wraith Falls.

And on the way back to their handsome stagecoach, along this very pathway, Lara saw an adorable chipmunk eating fall berries. As she retrieved her digital camera to document the moment, the camera's strap got caught on the case's velcro latch, pulling it from her hands. It tumbled to the rocky path and never worked again.

Saddened by their loss, yet determined to enjoy their weekend, Lara and Justin trekked on to the town of Mammoth where they purchased a disposable film camera. This story will be continued when said film is developed.
