I like creating things but don't often make time for it. Now that Joci is a little older, I've been trying to do a crafty type activity on the weekends. Most are still above her level, but I think she enjoys it. I know I do.
Here are some of the cute things I've made.
A cute wreath that was a horror to make. But it's cute, right?
A simple heart banner. Since it's hanging on my mirror, I maybe should have done the backs of the hearts too.
Joci and I made this Valentine's mobile
Joci and I made tissue paper flowers. Mostly Joci just wore the pipe cleaners as bracelets while I made the flowers.
Cute decorations. You can see the snowmen Joci and I made in January on the right.
Making Valentines Cards for Joci's birth mom and our families. We'll have to make more for her daycare class this weekend.
I may not be big on the cheesy stuffed animals and contrived cards part of V-day, but let's be honest, pink and red and hearts are just darling.
Oh, and I need to share a cute story. At the store yesterday, I saw an old man pushing a cart across the parking lot. He was hunched over and walking slowly, a testament to his age. In his cart was exactly one item: a three-foot tall stuffed Valentine bear. Nothing more. It just made me smile. He obviously made a special trip to buy this one thing. Who was it for? Who was the special Valentine who constituted a special trip to the store to purchase a massively large stuffed animal? His wife? Daughter? Granddaughter? I'll never know, but it was a cute sight and melted my heart just a bit.
